Hole 18

384 yards, par 4

We finish with a long par 4, usually played into the wind, with a slight dogleg to the right. The cross bunker over half the right side of the fairway challenges the longer hitters but they get rewarded if they carry it by a straightforward second. Most take the safer line to the left but must be careful not to run out of room with trees along the left side. The slope up to the green catches any underhit second shot while the out of bounds on the right behind the green gives golfers a real challenge especially on windy days. A par is very satisfying as you finish your round on one of Yorkshire’s “premier courses”.
