Founded in 1890, York Golf Club is the third oldest club in Yorkshire and is recognised as one of the finest in the area

 

Designed by 5 time Open Champion J H Taylor (one of the great golfing triumvirate of Open Champions / Course Designers alongside Harry Vardon & James Braid), the club boasts a fantastic history and the heathland course is a challenge to the most skilful of players but still offers a thoroughly enjoyable experience  to golfers of all abilities

I wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much I enjoyed playing York last week. The course was in fantastic condition, and the recent improvements have made a real difference. I particularly liked what you are doing with the placement of fescue grass throughout the golf course, and specifically around the bunkers - it certainly adds to the challenge!
