Mark Rogers

Head Professional

Mark is one of a select band of golfers to achieve the prestigious status of Specialist PGA Professional, a distinction held by less than 10% of PGA members as of 2021.

Since joining York Golf Club in 2008, Mark has played a key role in developing our course and facilities. In 2019, he opened our TrackMan Studio, which is now recognised as one of the leading fitting, coaching and simulation facilities in the York area. A Level 2 certified TrackMan coach, he previously served as Head Professional at Seaton Carew Golf Club, after gaining experience at Darlington.

In 2015, Mark was awarded the Foremost Professional of the Year, recognising his outstanding contribution to York Golf Club and the wider golfing industry. He is also a TaylorMade Brand Ambassador, part of an elite group of 51 professionals across Europe, including peers from Wentworth, Gleneagles, Turnberry and Quinta da Lago. He also represents Under Armour, one of just 40 ambassadors in the UK.

Jack Smith

PGA Assistant Professional

Jack joined York Golf Club in early 2023 after gaining valuable experience at Rockliffe Hall Hotel and Golf Club. Now in the final year of his PGA training, he has already built a strong following thanks to his positive personality and professional approach to coaching.

Jack leads our junior coaching programme, where his enthusiasm and commitment have helped the junior section go from strength to strength.

Dan Murrie

Assistant

Dan joined our Pro Shop team in 2023 and has quickly found his stride with his infectious enthusiasm for golf shining through in everything he does.

A former semi-professional footballer, Dan only started playing golf after the Covid lockdowns and was instantly hooked. Since then, his passion for the game has grown massively and his handicap has dropped from 26 to an impressive 3.
