A challenging opening hole usually into the prevailing wind. It requires a good drive into a reasonably wide landing area, but if you want to reach the green in two the fairway bunkers need to be avoided. The fairway narrows for the second shot with bunkers left and right and trees ready to catch a wayward shot. A par on this 1st hole is well earned.
