York Golf Club is ramping up efforts to grow the game by taking bookings for its 2026 Beginner Golf Academy, following a “hugely-successful” programme in 2025.
Aimed at newcomers looking to take their first steps in golf, the academy will run on a structured two-week cycle. Participants receive eight group lessons alongside other beginners, supported by additional fun practice-range sessions designed to build confidence between coaching blocks.
As well as getting to know other young golfers, attendees will benefit from access to the clubhouse and discounted drinks to help them feel part of our golf club community.
Assistant PGA Professional Jack Smith, the lead coach for junior and beginner development, said: “This programme has quickly become a vital gateway for bringing new golfers to our club.
“Our goal is to make the sport accessible, enjoyable and welcoming from day one – and we’ve seen how quickly people progress when they learn in a friendly and structured environment.”
The Academy is open to all levels of Juniors and more details are available by calling 01904 494840.
