Family Foursomes Rules

FAMILY FOURSOMES (Summer)
Aim.
The aim is to introduce YGC juniors to the foursomes’ format over 18 holes and to allow them to compete with an adult member of their family.
Format.
Stableford Foursomes.
Eligibility.
The competition is open to both WHS and Blues handicap juniors and a family member. The intent is that the adult family partner will be a member of YGC but, where this is not possible, family members from another club are welcome to compete. If no family members are golfers then the junior is welcome to invite an adult partner ideally from YGC but, if not practicable, then from another club.
Handicap Allowance.
Course Handicaps (based on the Ladies Red Tees for scoring) for WHS Men Yellow or Red tees - WHS Ladies Red tees
WHS Juniors will need to indicate beforehand which tees they intend to play off, Red or Yellow, and their course handicap determined accordingly adjusted for the use of different tees. Blues – Blue handicap reduced by 12 to account for the difference between yellow and blue course ratings. The handicaps of the two players calculated as above are combined and then divided by two. Shots taken against the Ladies stroke index. Eg Blue handicap 36 with WHS lady junior course handicap 10 (36 -12 = 24) plus (10) - 34 divided by 2 = 17

Tees.
There is no stipulation on whether the adult drives the odds or evens but clearly the driver alternates on each hole. Yellow or red tees for the WHS handicappers and blue tees for junior blues.
Entry Cost.
The cost of entry is £5 per team with non-members paying an additional £10 green fee. Please pay in the pro shop before your round.
Fun Prizes.
Nearest the Pin on 7th.
Prize Giving.
Prize giving will be in the bar at the conclusion of the event. All players are encouraged to remain behind for the prizegiving.
